Charity Support Scheme

Protect the financial security of your loved ones after your passing when you find the perfect life insurance policy for you with The Insurance Surgery.

Welcome To The Insurance Surgery Charity Support Scheme

Established in 1999, we are the first UK insurance broker to specialise purely in providing financial services to clients who suffer from pre-existing medical conditions. We have the necessary experience to help guide clients with health problems towards the products that will be the most suitable for their particular pre-existing medical condition. During this time, we have been trying our hardest to help charities along the way and have consequently created links with a number of charities, such as Mind charity, Macmillan Cancer Support and MS-UK (visit our charities we support page for a full list). From bake sales to races we have had tried our hand at numerous different fundraising events, we are passionate about protecting families and want to help people any way that we can.

How do I get involved in the Charity Support Scheme?

Life insurance can help your family cover various expenses such as mortgage payments, outstanding debts, education costs, funeral expenses, and everyday living expenses.

The decision to purchase a policy should be based on your individual needs, financial situation, and long-term goals. Consulting with an adviser can help determine whether life insurance is right for you.

Examples of our Charity Work

Nov 2019: Purple Tuesday

Purple Tuesday 2019 is an international call to action, focused on changing the customer experience for disabled people. It will involve organisations of all sizes and from all sectors taking decisive, practical actions to meet the needs of disabled customers.

Nov 2018: Children’s heart surgery

In November 2018 went to visit the Children’s Heart Surgery Foundation and donated £500 to the charity after it was nominated by our customer Matthew. It was truly an inspirational and amazing experience and we were touched by all the stories we were told about the children and families that they have helped over the years.

Sep 2018: Circus Starr

In September 2018 we attended Circus Starr’s charity circus event, donating £500 to help fund their events. They are a circus specifically tailored to helping children with disabilities, low income families, those who may be facing challenges such as domestic violence, bereavement or who may be living with life-limiting conditions. It was such a proud moment to be able to contribute to making the event possible and to see all the children’s smiles.

Sep 2018: Macmillan

In September 2018 we hosted our own Macmillan Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer support. One in two people will face cancer and the money that we raised will help make sure that no one has to do it alone.

Jun 2018: Race for life

In June 2018 our colleagues Hollie and Laura ran the Race for Life – Pretty Muddy 5K to raise money for Cancer Research. They managed to complete the course in 46 minutes and raised an incredible £510! We are immensely proud of them for this achievement and we are so pleased that they managed to raise so much for Cancer Research.

Apr 2018: Bowel cancer

In April 2018 we hosted our own bake sale for Bowel Cancer UK as part of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month. It was a wonderful chance to raise money and awareness for a great cause as 54% of bowel cancer cases in the UK were preventable. We want this number to be 100% and every penny helps them to reach this goal.

What Are the Different Types of Life Insurance Policies?

A term life insurance policy...

Term life insurance policy covers a specified duration, such as 10, 20, or 30 years. Should the insured individual pass away during this period, the policy pays a lump sum to their designated beneficiaries.

Whole-of-Life Insurance.

Whole-of-life insurance covers a person’s entire lifespan, provided premiums are consistently paid. It delivers a lump sum to beneficiaries upon the insured’s death.

Over 50s Life Insurance.

Over 50s life insurance guarantees acceptance without a medical report. With lower cover amounts and fixed premiums, it is used to cover funeral costs or leave a modest inheritance.
